Hey y’all! First blog since Colombia! Vietnam has been such an interesting experience. During the first month, I really struggled with distractions and not spending as much time with God as I should have. I didn’t feel fruitful in what I was doing. I didn’t feel like I was doing all that I could, even though I felt like I was giving it my all. Then the Lord convicted me. I realized I had been putting the work for Him before Him. I needed to focus on Him and follow Him, and then the work would come after. Once I did that, I saw fruit immediately! I had been very exhausted throughout Vietnam because of the relationship ministry I’ve been involved in. As an introvert, this type of ministry drains my energy. But once I refocused on God, my energy was instantly renewed. I don’t get as exhausted when speaking to people when I’m following Him. He also started giving me the work I so desperately needed. The week I refocused on Him, He led me to meet an older man named Willem. I met him while greeting at church. We had a great, very long conversation. He has an incredible story. Later that day, I ran into him again at the store while getting a drink. We sat outside my apartment and just talked. During that conversation, he mentioned a Ukrainian girl he met and talked to (he is a missionary). He said he wished he saw her again so he could give her a Bible and share more with her. About an hour later, she walked by with her boyfriend. They came over, said hi, and started talking. We eventually sat down with them and talked for three hours. They asked many questions about Christianity and our faith. It was a great conversation, and I know God did so much through us. I also got their contact info, and the guys and I met them for volleyball two days later. They mentioned they’d love to play again. God has told me that the seed has been planted; now my job is just to love them. That’s what I am trying to do. I have many other stories alongside this, but this one really stands out.
